Technology, entertainment, and design – this is what TED is all about. During TED Talks, sweeping subject matter is examined by exceptionally talented speakers.
Once a year, in Vancouver, the central TED conference takes place, featuring lectures from inspirational people from around the world.
When not in Canada, TED becomes TEDx, licensed and supervised local events financed by ticket buys and sponsors.
TED conferences feature short, carefully prepared lectures presenting innovative, inspiring ideas. They usually cover a wide range of subjects designed to disrupt the status quo and provoke conversations that matter.
This year we decided to spice things up: In step with the disruptive technologies that we experience every day, we are delighted to present to you the first TEDx conference held on the metaverse.

What's so special about TEDxBatGalim?
Bat Galim: a neighborhood in Haifa, Israel, located at the foot of Mount Carmel on the Mediterranean coast. Being home to the largest international IT companies, Bat Galim is known for its far-reaching innovation. In Haifa, you can also find one of the world’s highest-ranked universities, the Technion – Israel’s Institute of Technology.
This TEDx event hosted in the metaverse will be the first ever of its kind.
The metaverse can be likened to a virtual world with real-world features. It is a broad shift in how we interact with technology.

EVENT SPEAKERS
TED speakers are selected via a long process. They include Nobel prize winners, world-changing leaders, and trailblazing scientists. Our speakers “speak for themselves”, get to know them as we near the actual event date.
Dr. Maoz is a faculty member at the Sagol School of Neuroscience and the Department of Biomedical Engineering at TA University. Dr. Maoz is using tissue engineering to develop "Organ-on-a-Chip platforms" for studying human relevant physiology, and personalized medicine.
Sara Tancman
Sara is the founder and CEO of the Briah Foundation, an organization that is dedicated to improving women’s health in Israel and strives to change the way women are treated by the medical system. They accomplish this through advocacy, research, and raising awareness.
Maor Farid
Dr. Maor Farid is the co-Founder & CEO of Datability. He is an AI and Chaos Theory scientist at the Technion and MIT, Israel's representative at the Harvard leadership program, a Captain (res.) in Unit 8200 and Brakim Program, and a member of the Forbes 30 Under 30 list.
Angelica Edna
Calo Livne
Through performing arts, Dr. Angelica Edna Calo Livne is an advocate of peace for students from different backgrounds. In 2002, Angelica created the Arcobaleno Rainbow Theater for young Jews, Arabs, Christians, Muslims and Druse.

Ben-Tolila
Roei Ben-Tolila is a former officer in an elite unit in the IDF where he was severely injured and remains paralyzed. Through his lectures, he demonstrates how to turn a crisis into an opportunity. His story represents the secret of Israeli resilience- "one for all, and all for one".
Stas Zaslavsky
Stas Zaslavsky is an experienced digital marketer, serial entrepreneur, founder of a multi-award-winning startup in the tech eventspace, and a B2B metaverse pioneer evangelist.
Oren Tene
Dr. Tene is a highly sought-after speaker. In his talks, he explains complex mental health concepts in simple words. Dr. Tene combines professional terms with real-life examples while using humor that is approachable to all listeners.
Efrat
Garber Aran
Efrat performs as a spoken word poet and also publishes poetry. She has a BA and MA in Hebrew Literature. However, after a short career in the fields of NGOs, she successfully retrained and became a data scientist. Now she is working as a Product Data Scientist at AI21 Labs.
